Content removal request

For any person depicted in content on MyMuse

This page is for anyone who appears in a photo, video or private message published on MyMuse and wants that content removed — whether or not they are the creator who uploaded it, and whether or not a copyright claim is involved.

If your request is strictly a copyright infringement (someone using your own photos, videos or other copyrighted material), please use the DMCA takedown process instead. Both procedures can be used in parallel; they do not exclude each other.

Who can submit a request

  • Any person depicted in the content, even if they are not the account that uploaded it.
  • A legal representative acting on behalf of the depicted person, with appropriate proof of authority.
  • A parent or legal guardian on behalf of a minor (see below — any suspected content depicting a minor is treated as the highest priority and processed same-day).

If the depicted person is under 18 or was at the time of the content

Email legal@joinmymuse.com immediately with the subject line “URGENT — minor depicted”. We will remove the content immediately, suspend the uploading creator pending investigation, and report to NCMEC and law enforcement as required by law. Urgent minor-related reports are handled same day, 24/7.

Reasons we will remove content

You do not need to prove damages or go to court. We will remove content when any of the following applies:

  • You never consented to appear in the content, or the content was recorded without your knowledge.
  • You consented at one point but have since revoked that consent for this specific content.
  • The content was shared for a private purpose and uploaded to MyMuse without your authorisation.
  • The content is part of image-based sexual abuse (so-called “revenge porn”), doxxing or harassment.
  • The content depicts a minor (see urgent section above) or a person whose age cannot be verified.
  • Any other situation where publication on MyMuse violates your privacy, personality rights, or applicable law.

How to submit a request

Send an email to legal@joinmymuse.com with the subject “Content removal request” and include:

  • Your full legal name and contact details (email and ideally phone).
  • The URL(s) of the content on MyMuse and, if relevant, the creator's username.
  • A short description of why the content should be removed (for example: “I never consented”, “I revoke my earlier consent”, “I was 17 at the time”, etc.).
  • A photo of your government-issued ID so we can confirm that you are the depicted person (or proof of legal representation if you are acting on behalf of someone else). The ID is only used to verify your identity and is deleted once the request is closed.
  • A signed declaration, under penalty of perjury, that the information you provide is accurate.

Response & resolution times

  • Urgent reports (minor depicted, clear safety risk): same day, 24/7.
  • Standard content-removal requests: acknowledged within 2 business days, resolved within 7 business days.
  • During the review, we may temporarily hide the reported content until a decision is reached.
  • You will receive a written notification of the outcome and, where relevant, of any counter-notice filed by the uploading creator.

What happens after you submit

  1. We acknowledge receipt within 2 business days.
  2. Our moderation team verifies your identity and reviews the content.
  3. If the request is valid, the content is removed from MyMuse globally.
  4. The uploading creator is notified, may lose posting rights, and may have their account suspended depending on the severity of the violation.
  5. Records of the request, the decision and the removed content are retained for audit and legal purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

MyMuse will never share your identity with the uploading creator without your express written permission.
